Among the many sources of inspiration this piece found its seed in the Japanese woodblock prints. Delicate pink, salmon, golden-yellow blooms lace a pattern over a background of deep saturated greens, shades of purple and hints of red providing another layer of textures and rich incidentals.

This piece was inspired by a sunlit, blossoming Jerusalem Thorn Tree draped over a pond. The vibrant red veil of flowers opens to reveal a back ground of deep blues and greens and an array of subtle detail to explore, and rests on the banks of the pond with its reflection of clouds, branches and reeds.
